Mystery Writing Competition Judged by Lee Child



Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels, along with Marcia Clark and Hofstra University Professor of Law Alafair Burke, are the judges for a Mystery Writing Competition, hosted by Hofstra Law.

Submitted stories must be original, unpublished, up to 3,500 words and must have a lawyer as the main character. The deadline is May 1.  - Download competition flyer PDF.

First prize is $500, with $200 for second and $100 for third. The first place story will be published on the website of Mulholland Books, an imprint of Little, Brown and Company. All authors retain copyright.

Submissions must be in Microsoft Word, using a 12-point font and double-spaced. Email stories as an attachment to lawasb@hofstra.edu by May 1, 2014, with the subject line “mystery writing competition.”
