Summer of Zombie 2015 SPOTLIGHT ON: C.A. (Christine) Verstraete

What is your latest zombie release?
Changes, a GIRL Z Prequel short story
 changes--sm-verstraete
 girlz-mylifeasateenagezombie-1
Quick description of it (no spoilers)
In GIRL Z: My Life as a Teenage Zombie, Becca’s life is changed forever when her cousin comes home and infects her with the Z virus via a scratch.
In Changes, A GIRL Z Prequel storySpence’s “perfect” job is anything but. He escapes a living dead nightmare when his co-workers turn into flesh-eating monsters. As the plague spreads, follow Spence on his return home to see his family one last time… if he can make it.
This is a short story prequel to the book, GIRL Z: My Life as a Teenage Zombie.
Something unique about it.
In GIRL Z: My Life as a Teenage Zombie, I wanted to show a zombie outbreak from the viewpoint of a teenage girl, with touches of humor and teenage angst.
In Changes, I wanted to show another viewpoint, this time from someone who is turning zombie.

  1. It's hard to explain. I'm just addicted to zombie gore - zombie comedy -zombie love - zombie anything! !! It is without a doubt the best in horror. Who doesn't fear and love the thought of the fall of the planet to flesh eating monsters?

  3. Besides the fun of the genre, It is nice to ponder what I would or wouldn't do in the same situation. Besides ...one never knows if what we have read will be the very thing that helps us to survive one more day.

  4. I don't know what the fascinates me the most! The way they are written and how they got that way. I think it was the zombie's of New Orleans that caught my fascination. coming out of the crypts. Jst amazed at the talent of how you all can put them into a story line and make it work.

  5. I think it's the group dynamics. How they start to fall apart the worse it gets. That and when the survivors are in an impossible situation, the dead have them against the wall. Whether they survive or not doesn't usually matter, I love that intense, endorphin pumping thrill. LOL I know, I should cheer for the living, but most of the time they all die anyway, so I don't get too attached:)
